Consistency is what separates a polished localization from a rough one. A character's name, a signature attack, a recurring place: they should read the same way in chapter one and chapter fifty, no matter who translated them. Zfuro is a full planning and full production system in one SaaS, and two features work together inside it to hold that line: the glossary and translation memory.
The glossary
The glossary is your per-series list of terms and their agreed translations. It exists so that character and term consistency is deliberate rather than accidental.
Each term carries:
- Its translations, so the whole team renders it the same way.
- Change history, so you can see how an agreed rendering evolved and why.
- Usage statistics, so you can see where and how often a term appears.
As translators work, term usage is detected automatically in their translations, so a translator sees the agreed rendering in context instead of hunting through a separate reference. And when a series ships in more than one language, relay-translation support helps keep terms consistent across multiple target languages, so a decision made once carries through the whole set.
Translation memory
Translation memory reuses work you have already done. Previously reviewed source-to-target translations are stored and, in the editor, reused at the bubble level. When a line matches something translated before, the earlier translation surfaces as you work.
Matching handles both exact source text and close (fuzzy) source text, so a line that is almost identical still offers a useful starting point rather than a blank field. Repeated lines, stock phrases and recurring sound effects do not have to be retyped, and they stay consistent from one chapter to the next.
The memory is organized per account, per series and per language pair, so suggestions are always drawn from the right context. It is a living resource: as translations are confirmed, the shared memory grows, and everyone on the account benefits from the work each translator has already done.
Scoped and isolated per tenant
Both the glossary and translation memory are scoped and isolated per tenant. Your terms and your reused translations stay within your own account and are never visible to another.
A note on imports
Translation memory in Zfuro is built from the work your team does inside the platform. Importing external TMX or TBX files is not available; the memory grows from confirmed translations produced in Zfuro itself, so what it suggests reflects your own reviewed decisions.
